Adolphus Marshall header enough to beat Zejtun Corinthians

Gudja United gets the 3 points over Zejtun Corinthians and move up to third position with 13 points, leaving the same Zejtun third from the bottom with just 7 points in total.

Gudja were immediately dangerous after three minutes into the match as Rafa Kooh Sohna received a fine pass from Firas Aboulezz but his powerful shot passed just wide.

Zejtun reacted at the 10th minute with Adam Smeir's volley also passing wide. On the 15th minute, it was Rafa Kooh Sohna again, who with a personal effort dribbled the Zejtun defenders but his shot hit the side netting.

On the other side, again Adam Smeir was the dangerous man for Zejtun as he tried his luck with a fine header but his effort went over Frederick Tabone's post. The first half ended goalless with just two dangerous opportunities on both ends.

In the second half, it was Zejtun who controlled the match, but it was Gudja who were more dangerous. In the early minutes Sergio Hili from outside the box saw his powerful shot pass just wide and on the 55th minute, Gudja took the lead with a wonderful header by Adolphus Nagbe Marshall from a fine Jackson Lima's free kick.

Zejtun continued to put more pressure on Gudja but it was Gudja again who went close to adding another one with Mauro Bonnici but his shot was stopped by Glenn Zammit.

The dying minutes saw a lot of crosses and set pieces from the Zejtun side but Frederick Tabone was in superb form and anticipated all their efforts.
